The company is a joint venture between Lucas-TVS Ltd. and Koito Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Japan. It manufactures four wheeler heads, rear lamps and indicators for leading automobile company such as TATA motors, Toyota, Ford and Maruti. The company has a unit with a manufacturing capacity of over a million lamps annually and a couple of warehouses.

 

Challenges

The company was looking for a solution that would help standardize and streamline their business processes across the organization and improve operational control through inventory optimization and management reporting. Its disparate software systems led to islands of information, unable to cater to the online information needs of top management.

 

Some of the business challenges faced by the customer included:

Challenges

With their head office in Chennai and working with more than 30 C&F agents across India, they required an integrated system that could monitor distribution and track stock items with all their C&Fs and manage distributors' sales and receivables.

 

Some of the business challenges faced by the customer included:

  1. Stock management, distributor sales and logistics were mostly manual, creating duplication of data entry and inaccuracies
  2. Stock pricing and tracking was cumbersome
  3. Tracking stock-in-transit materials
  4. Computing different tax systems prevailing in different parts of the country resulted in loss of revenue to the company
  5. For lot control with limited shelf life, it was critical that goods are dispatched on a first-in-first-out basis.
